Middle Of The Road
Simard - Lord
I started out in the dirt, playing the sand by the side of the road Without a care in the world, then I stood up, took a step and I strode Got to my very first milestone, making a choice to which way I would go Whether was right, whether was wrong, so long ago that I don't really know
You keep walking forward, go left and go right, whatever you chose this is who you are You take a look back to that side of the road, not so long ago and yet, so, so far
Once you get to reach the middle of the road You know that you are at the half-time of your show Felt immortal but I think I see the other side I wish I could stay here but request denied
Now comes the time for appraisal of what I have done since the dawn of my time I bifurcated, was all over the place but looking back, it just looks like a straight line There is much living to do, or so it seems from the place where I stand But there is so much I don't know, maybe I should make the most of what I can
You'll keep going forward, go left and go right, whatever you'll choose You take a look to see You take a look to see how far can you go but the heat from the road makes it so very hard
Once you get to reach the-e middle of the road You know that you are at the half-time of your show Felt immortal but I think I see the other side I wish I could stay here but request denied
The sun on my face and the wind in my hair I smile as I think of what it took to get here There's much behind me but there is so much ahead I should not waste it because it's all I have left
When I look back toward where I have started, eternal dream of beginning again I, for a moment, feel envy for those who will journey to where I am standing Then I remember the anticipation of youth to hurry and reach where I am Almost-a-wasting a taken-for-granted piece of the road that can never change
Once you get to reach the-e middle of the road You know that you are at the half-time of your show Felt immortal but I think I see the other side I wish I could stay here but request denied
